Relational-Developmental Therapy | Jen Keay Therapy

How I work

I am an integrative relational-developmental therapist. I believe our early relationships and experiences shape how we come to understand ourselves, others and the world around us.

When important emotional needs aren’t acknowledged, we adapt, we survive. But over time, those adaptations can leave us feeling disconnected from others, and from ourselves.

In our work together, I can help you to:

Counselling with me offers you a gentle and supportive space where you can feel heard and understood. It isn’t about being “fixed” it’s about exploring your story together, making sense of what has shaped you, and discovering the choices you want to make now. Along the way, you’ll be encouraged to reflect in ways that can open the door to real and lasting change.

I work on an open-ended basis, both in person from my therapy room in Wellington, Telford and online.

My qualifications and approach

My core training is integrative relational-developmental psychotherapy, alongside attachment, psychodynamic and transactional analysis theories. I also recognise the world is always changing so I stay dedicated to ongoing learning, to offer you the most thoughtful and up-to-date support possible.

My practice is LGBTQ+ affirming, trauma-informed, neurodivergent-aware, and anti-oppressive, welcoming people from all backgrounds and identities.

To ensure the highest professional standards, my practice is overseen through regular clinical supervision.
