It’s completely natural to have questions or even doubts when starting any kind of therapy.
How long does it take? How much does it cost? Is therapy right for me? What can I expect during a session?
I hope to have answered your questions here so you feel more informed as you consider taking this step.
How much does therapy cost?
£50 a session.
How long is each session?
Each session lasts up to 50 minutes and will generally take place on a weekly basis.
Where does it take place?
I hold sessions at my therapy room in Wellington, Telford and, alternatively, online.
What is Integrative-Relational therapy?
“Integrative” means I draw from different approaches depending on what suits you best to support issues like anxiety, depression, trauma and relationship challenges.
“Relational” places importance on both understanding your early relationships and how they influence you today, and the relationship between us – the therapist and client – as an important part of therapy.
What can I expect to get out of therapy?
At the start of therapy, we’ll discuss what you would like to achieve. We’ll spend the first few sessions getting to know more about you. This can include exploring significant life events, early experiences, and important relationships, as these often shape how we see ourselves and relate to others.
You may find that therapy gives you the chance to feel truly listened to without judgement. It can help you make sense of patterns in your life, understand the choices you make, and discover new ways of coping and of being. Most of all, it offers a supportive relationship where you can work through what matters to you and move toward lasting change.
What do we do each week in therapy?
Each week, you might bring whatever feels important: something recent, a recurring pattern, or a feeling you can’t explain or put words to. Together, we explore your thoughts, emotions, and relationships, both in the present and how past experiences, especially early ones, may still be influencing you today.
Some sessions may feel very emotional, others more steady or reflective. There’s no right way to be. We’ll regularly check in on how things are going.
